Dr. Lai Sin Yuan and Team Secure Silver Award at IWP-IRC2026
The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Lin Wei, Li Yixian, Asst. Prof. ChM. Dr. Lai Sin Yuan from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Goh Chien Yong from the Department of Mathematics on winning the Silver Award at the Innovate, Write & Publish: An International Research Challenge (IWP-IRC2026) for their research article.

Prof. Ir. Dr. Yong Wai Fen's Team Featured in Green Chemistry Women in Science Collection
The Research and Postgraduate Centre extends its congratulations to Prof. Ir. Dr. Yong Wai Fen and her research team, comprising Voon Boon Kee (2024/03 Master's student) and Yap Yen Juin (2022/09 Bachelor's student) from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering and the Centre of Excellence for Green and Advanced Technologies in Efficient Separations (GATES).Their critical review article has been selected for publication in the prestigious journal Green Chemistry, published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).

17th Malaysia ChemECar Competition 2026 Held at XMUM
The 17th Malaysia Chem-E-Car Competition 2026 was successfully held at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) from 25 to 26 April 2026. The competition was jointly organized by the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) and XMUM.

The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Assistant Professor Dr. Chong Su Sin (Principal Investigator), teamed with Assistant Professor Dr. Wong Ka Lun (co-researcher) from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering for securing a grant under the Public-Private Research Network (PPRN) 2.0 Phase 1/2026 by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education.

XMUM Collaborates with TNB Research on Carbon Capture Project
The Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Technologies for Agricultural Advancement and a Zero-Waste Economy (STARGAZE) at Xiamen University Malaysia has been appointed by TNB Research as the consultancy team for a Biogenic Carbon Capture and Utilisation (Bio-CCU) project, which officially commenced with a kick-off meeting held on 17 April 2026.

The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Jian Ping, Adjunct Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vincent Woon Kok Sin and postgraduate students, Kyle Sebastian Mulya and Malvin, from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering and Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Technologies for Agricultural Advancement and a Zero-Waste Economy (STARGAZE) on their recent research publication in Journal of Environmental Management, an SCIE Q1 journal with a latest impact factor of 8.4.
