Students Discover Biodiversity through Nature Exploration

Published on July 8, 2026

The Environmental Club (EcoWarriors) organised the NatureXplore Event on 13 June 2026 at the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), offering students an opportunity to learn about biodiversity and environmental conservation through hands-on outdoor activities.

Held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the programme introduced students to the unique tropical rainforest ecosystem at FRIM. Through guided activities and exploration, students gained insights into local biodiversity, ecosystem functions, and the importance of protecting Malaysia’s natural environment.

During the event, students participated in guided rainforest walks, biodiversity observation sessions, environmental discussions, and team-based activities. These experiences allowed them to observe nature firsthand while developing teamwork, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of environmental sustainability.

The event also provided students with a valuable opportunity to step outside the classroom and connect with nature. By exploring the rainforest environment, students gained a greater appreciation of Malaysia’s rich biodiversity and the role individuals can play in environmental conservation.
