Cardiff University Signs Progression Agreements with XMUM

On 16 October 2019, Cardiff University (CU) signed the Progression Agreement with Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), which enables XMUM students from Arts & Social Sciences, Business, Information Communication Technology, Sciences as well as Engineering programmes to be admitted into Cardiff University’s Postgraduate programmes after completing their undergraduate studies at XMUM.

The Agreements were signed by Prof. Rudolf Allemann, Cardiff University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zhang Ying, Assistant President of XMUM. 

With this agreement,

  1. XMUM students from Chinese Studies Programme and School of Economics and Management could be admitted into Cardiff with GPA 3.0 or above; students from School of Mathematics and Physics could be admitted with GPA 2.9 or above; while students from School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and School of Humanities and Communication (Journalism Programme), could be admitted into the Cardiff postgraduate programmes with GPA 2.7 or above.
  2. Applicants from XMUM will be exempt from IELTS Requirements if they provide evidence of the completion of a relevant undergraduate programme (except for Journalism, Chinese Studies and Traditional Chinese Medicine programmes).
  3. XMUM students will be able to enjoy a discount of the overseas students tuition fee or choose to pay tuition fee in instalments.
