On February 27, 2019, the top management of 20 leading universities in China gathered at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) to learn about the latest development of the first oversea campus established by a renowned Chinese university and to explore the further direction of Chinese universities’ internationalization efforts. 

The visit was jointly organized by Tan Chin Tuan Foundation (TCTF) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), as part of the 4th TCTF-NTU Advanced Leadership Development Forum: “The Belt and Road Initiative and International Talents Nurturing”. The delegation consists of 43 senior leadership members from 20 leading Chinese universities, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, Beijing Normal University, etc.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by XMUM President Prof. Wang Ruifang and Assistant President Dr. Zhang Ying. They were first briefed by Dr. Zhang on the current development progress of XMUM and the challenges and opportunities faced by the university. Then, during the discussion and exchange session, President Wang answered questions raised by members of the delegation and shared his vision and insights on the future development of XMUM. 

The event ends with a tour of the campus, during which many delegates expressed their delight and surprise at the rapid development of the university.
