The President of Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), Prof. Wang Ruifang, visited Laos and Cambodia from 4 September to 8 September 2017. The purpose of the visit is to promote the awareness of XMUM, to facilitate academic exchange and cooperation with institutions in both countries, to attract high quality students, and to explore employment opportunities for XMUM graduates.

In Laos, President Wang paid a courtesy call to Chinese Ambassador to Laos, Mr Wang Wentian. President Wang also met with Prof. Huang Xing, Vice President of Soochow Univesity in Laos, and Ms Li Xiao, Director of Confucius Institute at National University of Laos during his stay.

In Cambodia, President Wang paid a courtesy call to Madam Zuo Wenxing, Deputy Chief of Mission & Political Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Cambodia. He also visited Royal Academy of Cambodia, Confucius Institute, and Cambodia Shoubu Bilinggual International School to explore possible areas of cooperation.
