XMUM Welcomed 739 Students in 2017 April Intake

From 13 April to 15 April, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) welcomed 739 students into its bachelor degree and foundation programmes. The 2017 April intake consists of 345 students of bachelor degree programmes, including 202 progressing students from XMUM’s own foundation programmes, and 395 foundation programme students. With this new batch of students, the student number of XMUM increased to 1,900.

After their registration, the new students attended Orientation activities on 16 and 17 April 2017.

The orientation programmes are carefully designed to help the new students make a smooth transition into their studies at XMUM. Varies departments of XMUM, such as the Office of Academics Affairs, Student Affairs Office, IT Office, Library, and Finance, held a series of briefing sessions to introduce useful information on campus facilities, academic policies, rules and regulations to the students. In addition, a series of interactive activities were organized to provide the students with opportunities to meet with their seniors, to make new friends and to familiarize with the new environment.

By the end of this month, all 13 buildings of XMUM Phase I project will be completed. In response to the fast growth of student population, XMUM has decided to speed up the construction of Phase II project of the campus to accommodate the growing demand for student hostels.
