About the Programme

厦门大学总校中医系始建于1956年，建系70年来，为全球50多个国家和地区 培养了2万多名优秀中医人才，为中国和东南亚地区中医药事业发展做出了 巨大贡献。中医系隶属厦门大学医学院，学院师资队伍强大，现有教职员工（ 含临床教师）1023人；学院临床实力雄厚，拥有11家三级甲等附属医院（中国 最高等级医院）、5家教学医院；学院科研水平一流，建立海峡（厦门）中医药科 技平台、国家级医学虚拟仿真实验教学中心、国家临床教学培训示范中心、健 康医疗大数据国家研究院、厦门市湿病神经免疫重点实验室等50多个教学科 研机构。

厦门大学马来西亚分校中医学院作为中医教育国际化的典范，与总校中医系 融合发展，共同推进中医学科国际化进程。中医学院秉持“精诚至善、大医济 世”院训，致力于培养具备高尚职业道德、坚实理论基础、精湛临床技艺、卓越 科研能力、广阔国际视野的未来领袖人才。

目前，中医学科拥有国家（中国）青年岐黄学者1名、全国（中国）中医优秀人才 5名、全球前2%顶尖科学家榜单1名等优秀师资队伍。学院设有中医临床实训 中心、中医药中心、中草药园及30余家教学临床实习基地，中医特色鲜明、教 学条件卓越。学科发展聚焦闽台及东南亚中医药研究、中医舌诊、中医湿病、 中医肝病、全球健康等研究领域。

The Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at Xiamen University was established in 1956. Over this period, it has trained more than 20,000 TCM professionals from over 50 countries and regions, making significant contributions to the development of TCM in China and Southeast Asia.

The Department of TCM is part of the School of Medicine, Xiamen University, which has a strong faculty team of 1,023 staff members, including clinical teachers. The School of Medicine possesses robust clinical resources, with 11 affiliated hospitals ranked as Tertiary Class A (the highest hospital grade in China) and 5 teaching hospitals. It also has leading research capabilities, supported by more than 50 teaching and research institutions, such as the Straits (Xiamen) TCM Science and Technology Platform, the National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Centre for Medicine, the National Clinical Teaching and Training Demonstration Centre, and the National Research Institute for Health Big Data.

The School of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) serves as a model for the internationalisation of TCM education. Working in close integration with the Department of TCM at the main campus, it is committed to advancing the global development of TCM. Upholding its motto, “Sincere Excellence, Great Healing for the World”, the School is dedicated to nurturing future leaders with high professional ethics, a solid theoretical foundation, refined clinical skills, strong research capabilities, and a broad international perspective.

Currently, the TCM discipline at XMUM is supported by an outstanding faculty team, including one National (China) Young Qihuang Scholar, five National (China) Outstanding TCM Talents, and one scholar ranked among the World’s Top 2% Scientists (Stanford University list). The School has established a TCM Centre, Herbal Processing Laboratory, Chinese Herbal Garden, and over 30 teaching and clinical internship bases, offering distinctive TCM features and excellent teaching facilities.

Its development focuses on key research areas such as TCM studies in Fujian, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia, tongue diagnosis, dampness-related diseases, Liver diseases, and global health.
