IT Assistant Engineer / Engineer - IT Office (IoT Technology)
Role and Key Responsibilities
- Assisting campus system and application testing prior to application launching/deployment and provide application functional support upon system live.
- Microsoft 365 Admin, Email system maintenance and Ms Office application troubleshooting and support.
- Perform IT processing of Campus Email and ID generation for student registration event and synch data to respective system. Supporting University event such as Convocation, Open Day etc.
- Manage E-Card system and terminal devices including door access, POS machine and etc.
- Handling new employee and students onboarding configurations, user account creation, and account password reset.
- File and Cloud Storage system management e.g. NAS and XMDrive.
- Generating and extracting reports from IT system for respective departments’ analysis and reporting needs.
- IOT devices support and troubleshooting such as IP Phone, CCTV, door access and video conferencing system etc.
- Handling teaching equipment (Microphone, Laptop, Pointer, Multimedia Card, Converter and etc.) registration, borrowing, returning activities and troubleshooting/repairing.
- Attending to classroom and office facilities queries and supports.
- Assisting in purchase procurement process and documents processing such as proposal, invoice, PO, DO and Final Acceptance Form.
- Actively liaising with vendor for maintenance/warranty process for systems.
- Hypervisor (Virtual Machines platform) Management, network troubleshooting (LAN, Wireless Network, VPN, NMS, DHCP, Syslog_), system administration and hands on experience is preferred.
- Manage campus Virtual Tour system, 360-degree photo capturing and update using multimedia editing software such as Photoshop, Canva and Capcut.
- Preparing online guides, checklist and procurement or assets documentations
- Supporting University events such as student recruitment or orientation etc.
- Learning and adopting new technology, to perform ad hoc functions as and when requires.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (Computer/ Telecommunication) or equivalent.
- Multiple positions are available. Fresh graduates preferably with 1-3 years (s) of hands-on experience specializing in IT/Computer – System, Programming, Database Admin or Data Centre equivalent troubleshooting experience, are encouraged to apply.
- Programming skills - .NET/Python/SQL or PHP, HTML/ CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, and JavaScript will be an advantage.
- System - Experience in MySQL server optimization, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Alibaba Cloud, Google Cloud, GitHub, OpenStack etc.
- PowerShell command knowledge
- Web Development - familiar with web application environments, such as Drupal, WordPress, Laravel, and web deployment tools (Nginx, Apache, Lamp, Redis, OpenStack) is a plus.
