Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Arif Sobhan Bhuiyan from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, School of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (SAIR) of Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) was invited as a speaker at the International Conference on Signal Processing, Information, Communication and Systems 2026 (SPICSCON 2026), held from 13 to 14 August 2026.

Jointly organised by the IEEE Bangladesh Section (IEEE BDS) and the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) Bangladesh Chapter, SPICSCON 2026 was hosted in hybrid mode at the Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology (BAUET), Qadirabad, Natore, Bangladesh. The fifth edition of the conference brought together academic researchers and research scholars to exchange knowledge and research findings in signal processing, information technology, communications, and systems applications.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Arif presented his research entitled "A Low Phase Noise Power-Efficient CMOS Phase Locked Loop for High Band 5G Transceiver Applications". The research focuses on the design of a phase-locked loop (PLL) for the 5G 3GPP n261 band, with the aim of reducing phase noise and power consumption in high-frequency wireless communication systems.

Using Cadence Virtuoso Spectre post-layout simulations based on a 90 nm standard CMOS process, the proposed design achieved a locking time of 0.39 µs and phase noise of -113.52 dBc/Hz at a 1 MHz offset for a locked frequency of 28 GHz. The results also showed reductions in phase noise and power consumption compared with recent research benchmarks.

In recognition of his contribution as an invited speaker, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Arif was presented with a certificate by Prof. Dr. Celia Shahnaz from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), at the conclusion of the conference.
