On 14 March 2023, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) received a benchmarking visit from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), to explore the best practices and innovative approaches towards academic and research excellence.

Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering & Artificial Intelligence, Prof. Wang Han, and Head of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Wong Shen Yuong, warmly welcomed the delegation led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohamad Maufal Mohamad Saad from UTP Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department. 

During the visit, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Wong Shen Yuong introduced the programme structure, the implementation of outcome-based education (OBE) practices, and other efforts made by the School to enhance educational standards. 

The universities also discussed about potential areas for collaboration to improve the quality of education offered to students.
