School of Traditional Chinese Medicine Conducts First Practical and Clinical Examinations
In line with the accreditation standards set by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at Xiamen University Malaysia held its first official Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE) and Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).
TCM Students Visit Eu Yan Sang Pharmaceutical Factory
On 16 December 2024, 29 students from Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine (2021/02 and 2021/04 intake), along with two graduate students from Yunnan University of Chinese Medicine, visited the Eu Yan Sang Pharmaceutical Factory in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The visit was led by Dr. Chep Lee Lu Siang.

From 14 to 15 November 2024, the XMUM School of Traditional Chinese Medicine hosted a two-day educational and cultural program for exchange students from Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr. Kim Yun Jin Receives RM180K Grant from ALPS Global Holdings Bhd for Innovative TCM and Biotechnology Research in Alzheimer’s Disease
Recently, Xiamen University Malaysia received funding totaling RM180,000 from ALPS Global Holdings Bhd for research aimed at combating Alzheimer’s disease. The grant will support a study exploring the combined effects of electroacupuncture and stem cell therapy on neurodegeneration and cognitive function in a rat model.The research seeks to investigate innovative approaches that integrate traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with stem cell therapy, potentially paving the way for new treatment options for individuals affected by cognitive decline.
TCM Interns Gain Hands-On Experience at Xiang'an Hospital's Life Sciences Pavilion
On November 1, 2024, 21 Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) interns from School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Xiamen University Malaysia visited the Human Life Sciences Pavilion at Xiang'an Hospital, affiliated with Xiamen University. The tour, organized by the hospital’s Department of Science and Education, offered the students a unique educational experience, deepening their understanding of human anatomy through the use of advanced life sciences technology.
