IEM Engineering Quest 2025 Brings Together Students from Across Malaysia
The inaugural IEM Engineering Quest 2025, held from 21 to 22 June, brought together around 60 engineering students from universities across Malaysia for a two-day intervarsity competition focused on 'Smart City' and 'Project Management'.Jointly organized by the IEM student sections of Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and the IEM Young Engineers Section (YES), the event was hosted across two campuses - UTAR Sungai Long and XMUM.
Southeast Asia Youth Join Global Innovation Movement at XMUM
The final competition and award ceremony of the Southeast Asia Division Contest of China International College Students' Innovation Competition (SEA-CICSIC) 2025 and Malaysia-China Youth Innovation Competition (MCYIC) 2025 concluded successfully at Xiamen University Malaysia on 20 July 2025, bringing together young innovators from all over the Southeast Asia region to present and compete with their innovation ideas and projects.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Jian Ping Named Secretary of ARPOS
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Jian Ping, Director of the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Technologies for Agricultural Advancement and a Zero-Waste Economy (STARGAZE) at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), has been elected Secretary of the Malaysian Academic Research on Palm Oil Sustainability (ARPOS) for the 2025–2027 term.The election took place during the ARPOS Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Akademia Siber Teknopolis (AST), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) on 19 June 2025.

Prof. Ong Wee Jun & Team Publish Photocatalysis Breakthrough
The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Prof. Dr. Ong Wee Jun, Director of the Centre of Excellence for NaNo Energy & Catalysis Technology (CONNECT) and Assistant Dean of the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, on his recent publication in Applied Catalysis B: Environmental and Energy, a peer-reviewed Q1 journal by Elsevier with an impact factor of 21.1.
