Assoc. Prof. Dr. Song Kok Wee Publishes in Physical Review Letters
The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Assoc. Prof. Dr. Song Kok Wee from the Department of Physics, for the recent research article published in Physical Review Letters, an SCIE Q1 journal with the latest impact factor of 9.1.This research is conducted in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Oleksandr Kyriienko from the University of Sheffield.
Two XMUM Scholars Among 2025 Most Cited Chinese Researchers
On 30 January, Elsevier officially released the 2025 list of Most Cited Chinese Researchers. Prof. Ong Wee Jun from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering and Professor Chen Huanyang from the Department of Physics (seconded from XMU) at Xiamen University Malaysia were both selected.
Department of Physics Publishes in Classical and Quantum Gravity
The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates undergraduate students Toh Yu Xuan, Chin Yun Ten, Ethan Wu Quanrun, and their advisor Dr. Lim Yen Kheng from the Department of Physics for the recent article published in Classical and Quantum Gravity, a SCI Q1 Journal in theoretical gravitational physics with the latest impact factor of 3.7.
XMUM Launches New Master's Programme in Semiconductor Technology
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) has introduced a new Master's Programme in Semiconductor Technology, aimed at preparing skilled professionals to support the rapidly growing semiconductor industry.This postgraduate programme combines theoretical foundations with practical training in semiconductor science and engineering. It is designed to meet the increasing global demand for expertise in semiconductor technology, which underpins key developments in digitalisation, electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies.
Dr. Song Kok Wee: Breaking Boundaries in Physics and Teaching
In Southeast Asia, there's a Malay saying: Bagai katak di bawah tempurung - like a frog under a coconut shell, believing its small world is all there is.Song Kok Wee Kok Wee, Associate Professor of Physics at Xiamen University Malaysia, has spent his career looking beyond those limits. Over 20 years ago, he left Malaysia to study and work in Taiwan, the U.S., and the U.K. Now, in his forties, he has returned home to take on a new role in academia.
