On 15 December 2024, the XMUM Dance Troupe performed at the unveiling ceremony of the "Malaysia's Chinese Character of the Year 2024".

President of the Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong), Tan Sri T. C. Goh announced the Chinese character of 2024 is 升(sheng), which means "increase" or "rise". The character was chosen to reflect the public's hopes and concerns within Malaysian society. 

During the ceremony, the dance troupe performed two original dances "Rose of the Western Regions" and "Land of Etiquette". The performance received praise and recognition from distinguished guests and the media. 

The event was covered by major media including China News Service, Guangming Daily, and Bernama TV.
