Innovative Learning in The English Lounge

In addition, the centre has set up the English Lounge, which offers an informal platform for students to relax, interact and learn English in an English-speaking environment. Services offered in the English Lounge include:

i) Registration for English competency tests

ii) Counselling & consultation

iii)The Writing Clinic

iv) Let’s Chat sessions

v) English buddy/peer sharing sessions

vi) Self-directed online learning portal

vii) English on Demand

English Competency Tests

Since its inception, ELEC has made significant strides within the span of 18 months, and is the authorised test centre for the following local and international English competency tests:

i) IELTS – Academic (International English Language Testing System)

ii) MUET (Malaysian University English Test)

iii) MUET-on-Demand (MOD)

The centre also assists students to register for other competency tests such as Pearson Test of English (PTE), UKVI (IELTS for UK study & immigration), and Computer-delivered IELTS. Connecting Communities – Training & Collaboration

One of the initiatives includes engaging with the community and enhancing the centre’s visibility and viability through close collaborations with local and global institutions. The centre provides intensive English workshops for private candidates at an affordable fee, and summer English camps for local and foreign institutions.
