Xiamen University Malaysia has two Centres of Excellence (CoE) in the niche area of energy. 

Both these centres are associated to the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering. The CoEs boast of experts in the field of energy and engineering with flagship projects funded by multiple sponsors from the Government of Malaysia, China and public and private agencies.
