Speaker Introduction

Dr. Hsieh, Chun-Chung is a Retired Research Fellow at the institute of Mathematics in Academia Sinica Taipei, Taiwan. Dr. Hsieh, Chun-Chung received his Ph.D. at Yale University in 1990. His research focuses on topology, geometry and partial differential equations.

Abstract

I will introduce some basic knot theory and some related quantum field theory. Beyond that I will talk about some linking invariants in knot theory and their Feynman graphs representation. The whole idea arose from Witten’s paper in CMP, which is very physical and a little bit non-mathematical.
