Abstract

We show that any torus link L is the union of the one-dimensional connected components of the critical values of the argument map restricted to a complex algebraic plane curve.  Moreover, we give some applications on singularities of complex algebraic hypersurfaces and Milnor’s fibers.  We state some interesting questions and conjectures on knots in general.  This is a joint work with Yen-Kheng Lim.
