On 29 October 2024, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) welcomed 13 students from Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (YUTCM) to join a new International Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Exchange Program.

This group includes 9 undergraduate students, who will participate for 6 weeks, and 4 postgraduate students, set to stay for 12 weeks.

The program began with an opening ceremony at XMUM’s A3 Hall. The visiting students were welcomed by XMUM Vice President Dr. Zhang Ying, who expressed the university’s support and enthusiasm for the exchange. The Dean of the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine also encouraged the students to engage actively in the academic and cultural experiences XMUM has prepared.

During their exchange, the YUTCM students will attend TCM courses at XMUM, visit institutions such as Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and participate in site visits to deepen their understanding of TCM practices in Malaysia. XMUM and YUTCM both view this program as an important step in promoting cultural and academic collaboration in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
