XMUM Faculty Members Appointed to Key Roles in the WFCMS Tongue Diagnosis Committee

Several faculty members from Xiamen University Malaysia’s School of Traditional Chinese Medicine have been appointed to key positions in the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) Tongue Diagnosis Professional Committee, strengthening the school's leadership in the field.

Prof. Chen Shaodong, Dean of the School, was named President of the committee, with Assoc. Prof. Kim Yun Jin as Vice President and Dr. Chep Lee Lu Siang as Deputy Secretary-General. These appointments reflect Xiamen University Malaysia’s growing influence in international Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) research, particularly in tongue diagnosis.

The appointments were announced at the 2024 WFCMS annual conference, held at Xiamen University's Xiang'an campus, where leading TCM experts discussed advancements in tongue diagnosis, further enhancing the university's global profile.

Tongue diagnosis is a key method in TCM. Since 2016, the WFCMS Tongue Diagnosis Committee has promoted global academic collaboration. This year’s conference facilitated valuable exchanges among professionals and further solidified Xiamen University’s international standing in Chinese medicine.
