"Unity of the Five Elements, Journeying the Medical Path Together” TCM Camp Held

The “Unity of the Five Elements, Journeying the Medical Path Together” two-day-one-night Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Camp, organized by the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine Student Union (TCMSU), was successfully held from 16 to 17 May 2026.

The camp aimed to deepen participants' understanding of TCM culture while fostering teamwork, creativity, and friendship through a series of interactive activities inspired by the Five Elements—Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth.

One of the highlights of the event was a seminar delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Wang Yujie, who shared valuable insights on TCM health preservation and sub-health conditions. The seminar introduced participants to the concept of sub-health, its common symptoms in modern lifestyles, and practical TCM approaches to maintaining physical and mental well-being.

To further enhance the learning experience, participants took part in several engaging activities. During "The Journey of Five Elements" station games, participants completed challenges inspired by the characteristics of the Five Elements. Participants also immersed themselves in the murder mystery game titled “Five Elements Sect Mysteries: The Grand Physician Scrol", where they worked together to uncover hidden clues and solve challenges. In addition, the "Five Elements Unity: Water Realm Showdown" water station games brought excitement and laughter as participants worked together to overcome various water-based challenges.

The camp also featured the "Mugwort Meridian Care and Herbal Keychain Workshop", where participants crafted traditional mugwort hammers and herbal-themed keychains. Another popular activity was the "Honest Medical Herbal Shop", where participants collected medicinal herbs through various games and challenges to formulate designated TCM prescriptions, gaining practical exposure to herbal knowledge.

Creativity and teamwork were further showcased during the "Five Elements Stage Drama Creation Workshop", where participants prepared and presented stage performances inspired by the Five Elements theme. The performances highlighted participants' creativity and their understanding of TCM concepts through the lens of the Five Elements.

Accompanied by performances and a buffet-style dinner, the closing ceremony brought the camp to a warm conclusion. Throughout the camp, participants gained a deeper appreciation of TCM culture while developing new friendships and engaging in meaningful learning experiences.
