On 5 July 2025, the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (STCM), Xiamen University Malaysia, held its 8th White Coat Ceremony for the students of the 2021/09 intake (17th cohort). A total of 25 students were honored as they prepare to begin their clinical internships at Xiamen University’s affiliated hospitals in China.

The ceremony was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Zhang Ying, Vice President of XMUM, Prof. Chen Shaodong, Dean of STCM, as well as faculty members and administrative staff.

In her speech, Dr. Zhang encouraged students to uphold the university's motto, "Pursue Excellence; Strive for Perfection", and to face clinical training with perseverance and responsibility. She also invited students to stand up and applaud their families and lecturers in appreciation of their continuous support, creating a warm and memorable moment.

A tribute video showcased the students' growth over the past years, evoking emotion and reflection. Each student then received the white coat from the lecturers, a symbol of trust, professionalism and the journey ahead.

As they recited the oath, "I pledge my life to the service of health and humanity," the students marked the start of a new chapter with pride and purpose.
