Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) recently hosted the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Week 2024, themed Elemento Symphonarium, from 6-10 May 2024. The five-day event was a collaborative effort between the Traditional Chinese Medicine Society (TCMS) and the Student Union of the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCMSU).

The event aimed to spread TCM knowledge among the university’s students and staff, focusing particularly on the five elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Additionally, it sought to provide a valuable learning platform for TCMS members and foster stronger relationships within the XMUM community.

TCM Week 2024 featured a range of activities that attracted significant participation. Over 150 student volunteers helped orchestrate the event, ensuring its smooth execution. For the first time, three-dimensional backdrops, advanced lighting, and sound effects were incorporated, creating a memorable atmosphere for both the opening and closing ceremonies.

Participants enjoyed a diverse array of sub-events, including popular activities like the Customised Teabag and Sachet Workshop, Chinese Medicine Pillow Workshop, Funfair, and Exhibition. This year, new additions such as Health Consultations and Acupuncture Sessions, Tea Booth Showcases, and Aromatherapy Workshops were introduced to boost engagement and interest in TCM practices.

The event received enthusiastic feedback from attendees, with many praising the innovative and educational nature of the activities. The successful execution of TCM Week 2024 has set a high standard for future events, with anticipation already building for TCM Week 2025.
