On 2 October 2019, three final-year students from XMUM Chemical Engineering (CME) Programme won silver medal at the 5th Undergraduate Research Competition & Exhibition (URCE 2019). The event was organized by Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) and held at Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, Malacca. 

The three students - Zhang Yang, Xu Yitao and Lin Yanze - are currently conducting research project under the supervision of Dr. Kua Yin Leng, lecturer of XMUM CME Programme.

With the theme of “Community Engagement in Green and Sustainable Technology”,  URCE 2019 served as a platform for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) undergraduates to present their research and innovative projects. This event helped to nurture participant’s soft skills, particularly their effective communication, innovation and entrepreneurship qualities.
