NESE gathering brings staff and students together
The New Energy Science and Engineering (NESE) programme in XMUM has amassed more than 100 students over several intakes. On the evening of Dec 15, 2017, a gathering brought the NESE staff and students together, providing students a platform to learn about the research interests of the lecturers, in preparation for their final year projects.
The gathering began with a short speech by Prof. Huang and a round of introduction of the teaching staff. This was followed by ice-breaking games, where the attendees were able to interact with one another. After a hearty dinner, the NESE lecturers spoke about their research topics in a fun and casual way during the ‘Research Booth’ segment, allowing students to gain a deeper understanding of the available research topics.
The night of excitement reached a finale three hours later, featuring performances from two students. After a round of appreciative applause for the performers, the gathering came to an end.
