Dr. Ong Wee Jun Named World’s Top 2% Scientists

Associate Professor Dr. Ong Wee Jun from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, Xiamen University Malaysia has entered Stanford University’s list of “World’s Top 2% Scientists 2020” for his outstanding citation impact.

According to this list published in October 2020, Dr. Ong is among “2019 Single Year World’s Top 2% Scientists” and “Career-long World’s Top 2% Scientists”.
In January 2021, his research achievements was reported by Sin Chew Daily, one of the most widely read newspaper in Malaysia.

Dr. Ong Wee Jun Named World’s Top 2% Scientists

Led by Prof. John P.A. Ioannidis from Stanford University, the list was created by analyzing the common citation indicators - including H-index, co-authorship, and the composite indicator for career-long impact - of a group of over 150,000 scientists across 22 disciplines.

Though with less than 10 years of research experience, Dr. Ong Wee Jun is dedicated to his research works and has been actively involved in various research fields, especially nanomaterials for energy and catalysis. He was awarded Global Highly Cited Researcher by Web of Science group for two consecutive years in 2019 and 2020.

Starting from 2021, Dr. Ong Wee Jun is directing a new research center at XMUM and is currently recruiting postgraduate students for his NanoECats research group. For candidates who are interested, please contact him at weejun.ong@xmu.edu.my
