The School of Computing and Data Science (SCDS) at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) marked the start of the 2026/04 semester with a School Meeting on 17 April 2026, celebrating academic excellence among its staff and students. The event recognised outstanding achievements from the 2025/09 semester and the past academic year through the presentation of the Top Achiever Award and the Annual Outstanding Award.

Ms. Nurul Amera and Dr. Hiew Fui Chin received the Top Achiever Award in Teaching for their exceptional performance and dedication to high-quality learning. Their recognition reflects strong student feedback and consistent teaching excellence.

Student success was also celebrated through the Top CGPA Award, presented to the highest-performing students in each programme. The recipients were Indera Dewangga Dewata (Computer Science and Technology), Jia Dongyang (Cybersecurity), Ong Ann Yee (Software Engineering), Tando Jocelyne Audrey (Digital Media Technology), and Paudianto Matthew Alexander (Data Science), all of whom demonstrated outstanding academic commitment.

The Annual Outstanding Award further spotlighted key contributors across multiple areas. Dr. Yau Wei Chuen was recognised for excellence in teaching and Final Year Project supervision, while Dr. Dilshani received the Young Researcher Award for her research contributions. Dr. Mahdi was honoured in the Research Category for impactful scholarly work. In addition, Mr. Justin Poh Jun Ian was named Digital Ambassador for his creative efforts in promoting SCDS through social media.
