XMUM and Hirain Technologies Forge Partnership in Electronic Systems

Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Beijing Jingwei Hirain Technologies Co., Inc. ("Hirain") on 24 July 2026, strengthening collaboration between academia and industry in the field of electronic systems and technology.

Through this partnership, both parties aim to promote knowledge sharing, support research and innovation, and provide students with greater exposure to industry practices. Hirain will provide technical consultation, professional expertise, and access to relevant facilities and resources, while XMUM will contribute suitable undergraduate and master’s students to participate in and conduct engineering projects in collaboration with the company.

The MoU was signed at XMUM by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zhang Ying, Vice President of XMUM, and Mr. Qi Zhanning, President of Beijing Jingwei Hirain Technologies Co., Inc.

“As we strengthen our collaboration with Hirain Technologies, the establishment of a joint experimental laboratory on campus will provide a platform for industry–university research, engineering projects, technical knowledge exchange and hands-on learning,” said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zhang Ying, Vice President of XMUM.

Founded in 2003, Beijing Jingwei Hirain Technologies Co., Inc. (Hirain) is a technology company specialising in automotive electronics, electronic systems and intelligent transportation solutions, with operations in China, the United States, Germany and Malaysia.
