EEE Student Wins Best Paper Award at 5th International Conference on Engineering Technology
The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) congratulates the fourth-year undergraduate Clifford Choe Wei Chang for winning the Best Paper Award at the 5th International Conference on Engineering Technology (ICET 2021).
This research project is in collaboration with University Tenaga Nasional Malaysia (UNITEN). Under the guidance of Assist. Prof. Dr. Tan Jian Ding, Clifford Choe Wei Chang published part of his findings on photovoltaic solar energy conversion efficiency enhancement under the title of “Embedded Control and Remote Monitoring for Photovoltaic Solar Energy Harvesting Systems”.
Clifford is currently completing his undergraduate final year project on photovoltaic solar energy conversion system. The Department of EEE at XMUM consistently encourages and supports cutting-edge research activities that have the potential to contribute to the global pool of knowledge.
Organized by University College Tati (UC TATI), ICET 2021 is an international conference intended to provide opportunities for researchers around the world to exchange new ideas and research findings, as well as to establish research alliance for future collaboration. It focuses on four tracks - information technology, robotic automation systems, advanced manufacturing, and chemical innovation.
Dr. Tan Jian Ding is currently an Assistant Professor at Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Xiamen University Malaysia. He received his PhD from University of Malaya. His research focuses on renewable energy, robotic systems, artificial intelligence, industrial automation control and Internet of Things. He founded the Robotic Club at XMUM.
Clifford Choe Wei Chang is an undergraduate EEE student at Xiamen University Malaysia. He is the president of IEEE XMUM Student Branch and XMUM Robotic Club. He is currently researching on the efficiency enhancement of renewable energy conversion systems under the guidance of Dr. Tan Jian Ding.
