XMUM Math Programme Visit XMU for Academic Exchange and Cooperation
A delegation consisting of 28 students and faculty members from Mathematics and Applied Mathematics Programme of Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) paid a one-week academic visit to Xiamen University China (XMU) earlier this month.This visit has successfully strengthened the bond with the School of Mathematical Sciences of Xiamen University (SMS) and encouraged deeper academic collaboration between the two campuses.
XMUM Students Excel in Simon Marais Mathematics Competition
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) emerged as the Top Performer among all participating Malaysian universities in Simon Marais Mathematics Competition held on 13 October 2018. Simon Marais Mathematics Competition is a mathematics competition for undergraduate students in the Asia-Pacific region. This year’s competition attracted the participation of 50 universities from 10 countries, including Australia, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, New Zealand and Singapore.
Prof. Teo Lee Peng and Dr. Darren Ong Chung Lee Receive 2018 MOE Research Fund
The Office of Research and Innovation congratulates Prof. Dr. Teo Lee Peng and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ong Chung Lee from the Programme of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics on receiving Fundamental Research Grant SchemeFundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) 2018, awarded by Ministry of EducationMinistry of Education Malaysia (MOE). These are the first successful FRGS applications by Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) with a total allocated amount of RM127,700.
XMUM Students Excel in International Mathematics Competition
Students from Xiamen University Malaysia achieved outstanding results in the Simon-Marais Mathematics Competition held in Oct 2017 and XMUM ranked top among the participating Malaysia universities in the “Best Universities with an Eligible Grouping (by country)”.Simon-Marais Mathematics Competition is an undergraduate mathematics competition for students from universities in the Asia-Pacific region, offering individual category and pairs category. This year, 459 students from 34 universities in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, etc. participated in the competition.
