XMUM Undergraduates Co-author Research Paper on Black Holes
The Research Management Center congratulates undergraduates Chen Zihang and Deng Bojun from Mathematics and Applied Mathematics programme, on the publication of “Orbital mechanics and quasiperiodic oscillation resonances of black holes in Einstein-Æther theory” in SCI Q1 Journal - Physical Review D, 102 (2020) 044028. This research was done under the guidance of Associate Professor Dr. Lim Yen Kheng and is part of an international collaboration between XMUM and universities from Turkey, Pakistan and China.
Dr. Lim Yen Kheng Publishes Novel Research Results on Black Holes
The Research Management Center congratulates Associate Professor Dr. Lim Yen Kheng from Mathematics Programme on his recent publication entitled Charged dilaton black hole with multiple Liouville potentials and gauge fields, as the First and Corresponding Author. The paper was published in the Journal of High Energy Physics (Volume 2020, article number 134) on 24 March 2020, one of theleading journals (SCI Tier-1) in the field of high energy physics.
XMUM Students Stand Out at Simon Marais Mathematics Competition
For the third year in a row, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) has achieved outstanding performance at Simon Marais Mathematics Competition, an annual international inter-university mathematics contest. During this year’s competition, XMUM won Malaysia’s top score in Individual, Pair, and University categories.
In Mathematics Studies, Closer Ties Forged between XMU and XMUM
A delegation from School of Mathematical Sciences (SMS), Xiamen University (XMU) visited Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) in early October. Led by Prof. Tan Shaobin, Dean of SMS, the delegation included Prof. Wang Qing, Prof. Xiong Tao, Assoc. Prof. Yang Bo and Assistant Prof. Hu Jie, all of which are faculty members of SMS.
First XMUM Mathematics Competition Successfully Held
With the purposes of promoting students’ interests in mathematics and training more experts in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) for Malaysia, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) has organized the first XMUM Mathematics Competition. This competition serves as a key platform to uncover students’ mathematical talents and encourage them to become mathematicians in the future.Held on 23 June 2019, the competition have attracted 258 students from 24 higher education institutions and high schools.
XMUM Student Wins Second Prize in Jingrun Cup Mathematics Competition
Hong Khay Boon, a first-year student from XMUM Mathematics and Applied Mathematics Programme, won second prize in the 16th Jingrun Cup Mathematics Competition (Professional Group) held by School of Mathematical Sciences, Xiamen University.
