CAMS Team Wins Silver at SynBio Challenges 2025
Three students from the China-ASEAN College of Marine Sciences (CAMS), Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) - Xiong Yuchen, Zheng Jingyuan, and Mao Lingzhe (led by Dr. Steven Aw Yoong Kit) - won the Silver Award at the SynBio Challenges 2025.The team was guided by Prof. Dr. Yeap Swee Keong, Dr. Yong Chean Yeah, and Dr. Steven Aw Yoong Kit, with sponsorship from Suntar International Group through the Suntar-CAMS Sustainability Research Laboratory.
XMUM Postgraduate Wins Best Presenter Award at ICMMBT 2025
The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Ekaterina Efimova (Kate) from the China-ASEAN College of Marine Sciences, Xiamen University Malaysia, for winning the Best Student Presenter Award at the 5th International Conference on Integrated Coastal Management & Marine Biotechnology (ICMMBT), held on 30 & 31 July 2025 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Blue Carbon Study Achieves Success After Eighteen Months of Effort
Gu Tianze, a Year 3 undergraduate from the Marine Biotechnology (MBT) programme at the China-ASEAN College of Marine Sciences (CAMS), Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), has recently published two peer-reviewed articles, including one in Ocean and Coastal Management, a Q1 journal in the field of oceanography."550 days, 78 weeks, 18 months - that's how long this journey lasted," said Gu Tianze when reflecting on his academic growth.

The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Adrian Chan Wen-Jie, a master’s student from China-ASEAN College of Marine Sciences (CAMS), Xiamen University Malaysia, on receiving the Malaysia Toray Science Foundation (MTSF) Science & Technology Research Grant 2023. Adrian Chan Wen-Jie is one of twelve recipients of the MTSF Science & Technology Research Grant 2023, chosen among more than 400 applications nationwide.
