30 XMUM Students Volunteered at CIFIT 2019
30 student volunteers from Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) were highly praised for their outstanding performance at China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) 2019, which was held from 8 to 11 September 2019 in Xiamen, China. One of the world's largest international events promoting trade and investment, this year’s CIFIT has attracted over 100,000 domestic and foreign businessmen and more than 3,000 enterprises from 120 countries and regions, including 50 countries and regions along the Belt and Road Initiative.
Over 900 New Students Join XMUM in September 2019
Over 900 new students joined Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM)’s September 2019 intake. With their arrival, the total enrollment of the university exceeds 5,000.
XMUM Held Its First Alumni Gathering
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) held its first official alumni gathering on 28 September 2019, the same day of its Inaugural Convocation Ceremony. It marked the launch of its Student Alumni Office, which was officially established after the pioneer cohort graduated from XMUM.

Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) held its Inaugural Convocation Ceremony in the newly-furbished Auditorium on 28 September 2019. More than 1,000 students, parents, faculty, staff and guests attended the event.
Prof. Dr. Zheng Jin-Cheng Publishes in SCI Tier-1 Journal of Power Sources
Research Management Center congratulates Prof. Dr. Zheng Jin-Cheng, Director of XMUM Innovation Center, for publishing a research article in Journal of Power Sources, an international reputable SCI Tier-1 scientific journal with an impact factor of 7.467. The paper entitled “Nitrogen and phosphorus co-doped silkworm-cocoon-based self-activated porous carbon for high performance supercapacitors” was published on 26 August 2019.
Innovation Talk Series #11 Marine Renewable Energy
Innovation Talk Series #11 was held on 17 July 2019 at XMUM by Innovation Center and Research Management Center to introduce the tidal current power as a marine renewable energy in the industry. This public talk was hosted by Dr. Yeap Swee Keong, Associate Professor of Marine Biotechnology at XMUM.
