1. XMUM Undergraduate Student Publishes in Q1-Indexed Journal as First Author
Innovation Talk Series #14 | Protecting Local Rivers via Effective Microorganism
Innovation Talk Series #14 was held on 18 December 2019 by Innovation Center, with Jordan Ng invited as the guest speaker. Concerned that the importance of Klang River has been undervalued by the local community, in 2016 he founded Kelab Warisan Sungai Klang (Klang River Heritage Club, or KWSK), a non-profit organization dedicated to protection and preservation of the River for future generations.
Career Fair Gives XMUM Students a Chance to “Work for the Best”
With the slogan of “hire the best, work for the best”, Career & Internship Fair 2019 was successfully held at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on 18 December 2019. 20 large transnational as well as local companies from a wide range of sectors attended as recruiters, including PwC, Inventech, Hitachi eBowrx, Tan Chong Group, etc, offering students a great chance for internship and full-time job hunting.

Duke Kunshan University Explores Collaboration with XMUM
On 13 November 2019, Prof. Li Xin, Duke Kunshan University (DKU) Associate Dean for Research, and Dr. Wang Shuyi, DKU Director of Graduate Programs and Recruitment, paid a visit to Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), to discuss potential collaborative opportunities with XMUM representativesA partnership between Duke University (U.S.) and Wuhan University (P.R. China), DKU is a liberal arts university based in Kunshan, China, that offers a range of high quality, innovative academic programmes for students from around the world.
2nd International Conference on Future Smart Cities Held at XMUM
Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) successfully hosted the 2nd International Conference on Future Smart Cities from 5 to 7 November, 2019.In collaboration with International Experts for Research Enrichment and Knowledge Exchange (IEREK) in Egypt, an international institution that is concerned with the exchange of knowledge and enhancing research through organizing and managing conferences in all fields of knowledge, this event aims to bridge the research-industry gap and address key issues regarding effective sustainable living and development.
