XMUM and Sunway University Foster Engineering Knowledge Sharing through Courtesy Visit
XMUM received a courtesy visit from Sunway University on 2 June 2023, with the aim of promoting knowledge sharing in engineering programmes between institutions.The visit was led by Prof. Ir. Dr. Denny Ng, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, Sunway University. Among other delegates who attended the visit included Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr Matthew Teow, Program Leader of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, and Ms. Linda Tan, the Director of Facilities Services at Sunway Education Group.
Students from School of Energy and Chemical Engineering Inspired by the Public Talk on Entrepreneurship
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ricardo Baba from School of Economics and Management, Xiamen University Malaysia, was invited to deliver a public talk to students from School of Energy and Chemical Engineering regarding entrepreneurship, on 25 May 2023.
Ts. Dr. Vincent Woon Receives MASA Policy Development Programme Research Grant
Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Vincent Woon Kok Sin from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering has received an MASA Policy Development Programme (MPDP 2.0) research grant of RM 10,000, for his research on COVID-19’s impact on Malaysia’s carbon neutrality. Dr. Tan Jian Ding from the School of Electrical Engineering and Artificial Intelligence will also participate in this project.
Ts. Dr. Vincent Woon Selected for 2023 SUSI (Study of the U.S. Institutes) for Scholars Program
The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Vincent Woon Kok Sin from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering for being chosen as one of 18 global scholars by U.S. Institute and the U.S. Department of State, to participate in the 2023 SUSI (Study of the U.S. Institutes) for Scholars program. His nomination came from the U.S. Embassy in Malaysia.
Dr. Yong Wai Fen and Chemical Engineering Postgraduate Students Publish in Green Chemistry
The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Hong Seang Uyin, Wang Yida, Soh Leong Sing, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yong Wai Fen from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering for the recent article published in Green Chemistry, an SCI Q1 journal with the latest impact factor of 11.034.
School of Energy and Chemical Engineering Celebrates Outstanding Academic Achievements of Students at SECE Award Ceremony
The School of Energy and Chemical Engineering (SECE) has held its Dean’s List, Final Year Project, and Capstone Project Award Ceremony for the 2022/09 semester on 18 April 2023, to recognize the academic achievements of undergraduate students from the New Energy Science and Engineering and Chemical Engineering programmes.
