Mr. Ye Xiaoqing and Ms. Xu Xin, an alumni couple of Xiamen University China (XMU), donated USD 150,000 to Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) earlier this month.

This is the first donation that XMUM has received in 2021. It will be used as scholarships for new intakes of 2021 and 2022.

“As XMU alumni, the purpose of this donation is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our alma mater and to express our sincere gratitude,” said Mr. Ye Xiaoqing.

“We hope that our small gesture will inspire more XMU alumni to support the development of XMUM. We also hope that the scholarships set up by this donation would help attract more outstanding students to study with XMUM and to pursue academic excellence there.”

Both graduated from XMU School of Management, the couple formed Merlion Property Services Pte Ltd, a real estate management company in 1996. They are also the founder of Qingxin Foundation, a charity with the aim of helping people in need.
