XMUM Receives RMB 600,000 Donation from XMU EDP Alumna

On 12 September 2024, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) held a ceremony to honor Ms. Wu Xinhui, an alumna of Xiamen University's Executive Development Program (EDP), for her generous donation of 600,000 RMB to enhance the campus's cultural facilities.

The donation will be used to upgrade the Music Island with a new LED screen, which will improve facilities for cultural activities benefiting both students and staff.

The ceremony was attended by notable guests, including Ms. Wu Xinhui, Vice President of the Society of Fujian Merchant Studies and Chairwoman of Zhong Mei Jing (Xiamen) Environmental Technology Co., Ltd.; Mr. Lin Wenlong, President of the Society of Fujian Merchant Studies and Chairman of Xiamen Huilong Group; Mr. Zhang Haiyan, Chairman of Xiamen Bluesea Wang Group; and Prof. Wang Ruifang, President of XMUM. Also present were representatives from the Society of Fujian Merchant Studies, as well as XMUM students and staff from various countries and regions.

In her speech, Ms. Wu Xinhui expressed pride in XMUM's growth and hoped her donation would inspire other alumni and the broader community to support the university's development. She emphasized that the contribution aims to enhance cultural facilities on campus, creating a more engaging environment for students and staff and strengthening educational and cultural exchanges between China and Malaysia.

Mr. Lin Wenlong praised Ms. Wu Xinhui's generosity and highlighted the growing collaboration between the Society of Fujian Merchant Studies and XMUM. He reaffirmed the Society's commitment to furthering cooperation with XMUM and supporting the development of Fujian enterprises along the Belt and Road Initiative.

Prof. Wang Ruifang expressed heartfelt thanks to Ms. Wu Xinhui for her donation, noting that this year also marks the 150th anniversary of Xiamen University's founder, Mr. Tan Kah Kee. He emphasized that Ms. Wu Xinhui's contribution not only reflects alumni's deep affection for their alma mater, but also embodies the spirit of Tan Kah Kee in the modern era. This donation exemplifies Xiamen University's values of gratitude, responsibility, and dedication. XMUM will use the funds effectively, extending this goodwill to the university community and striving for excellence as a way to honor the support and care received.
