2,000 commemorative T-shirts arrived at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) from Xiamen, China, as a gift from a Xiamen University alumnus to celebrate the branch campus's 10th anniversary.

The T-shirts were made by Li Hongdun, a Class of 1999 graduate of XMU's Department of International Economics and Trade and founder of HanTon International. Having worked in the apparel industry for over 20 years, he decided to create a special batch of T-shirts for XMUM after learning about the celebrations.

"As an alumnus of Xiamen University, I thought that if there was something I could do, I should do my best to contribute," Li Hongdun said.

The T-shirts feature the XMUM main building and the University's 10th anniversary logo. They will be worn at alumni activities and presented to the Class of 2026 as graduation gifts.

Although Li Hongdun has not yet visited XMUM, he has been following the development of the Malaysia campus since its establishment.

"Xiamen University Malaysia is an important part of Xiamen University," he said, “I hope it will continue to grow in reputation, so that more students in Malaysia and around the world can learn about the University and share its story."
