560 new foundation students registered for the April intake of Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) on 13 & 14 April, making the total enrollment of XMUM over 3,200 students.

School of Foundation Studies organized orientation activities for the new batch of students throughout Saturday and Sunday, including a series of ice-breaking games, briefing and sharing sessions, prize-giving ceremony, and mini concert. 

This intake is comprised of local Malaysian students and international students from 8 countries and regions, including Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Turkmenistan.

“As the number of international students has continually increased over the years, the campus is becoming more and more internationalized,” said Ms. Yu Shiyan, the person in charge of XMUM admission team. 

Currently there are 1,008 international students from 16 different countries and regions studying at XMUM, constituting near 1/3 of the total enrollment. 
Ms. Yu also pointed out that the total student enrollment of XMUM is expected to reach 4,000 by the end of 2018.
