University of Sydney Representatives Share Postgraduate Application Information
On 27 November 2018, representatives from University of Sydney - including Dr. Josiah Poon, International Director of School of Computer Science, and Dr. John Kavanagh, Deputy Head of School of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering - gave a talk on postgraduate programme application to XMUM students.
Some of the information shared during the talk are:
- University of Sydney ranking:
- Top 3 universities in Australia for Engineering & Technology;
- 1st in Australia & 5th in the world for graduate employability;
- 1st in Australia & 28th globally for research innovation.
- Master of Professional Engineering (MPE) is open to students of non-engineering background.
- An accelerated pathway is available for students with an undergraduate degree in engineering. Relevant academic or professional experience can be credited to the degree as a form of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), which means student will be exempted from some similar courses and graduate within a shorter period of time.
- University of Sydney is reviewing the possibility of exempting all XMUM students from taking the English Proficiency Test (e.g.: IELTS, TOEFL, etc.).
