A Fruitful Experience Sharing from Industry for International Business Students

Mr. Glory Tay Yong Yew, Business Development Functional Rollout Manager APAC & AMER at Norma Group, was graciously invited by the School of Economics and Management, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), to deliver an insightful talk titled Journey in International Business for our undergraduate International Business students on 12th December 2023.

 

During the session, Mr. Glory shared his invaluable experiences, reflections, and the diverse paths he has navigated in his business journey. The aim was to equip students with a foundational understanding before venturing into the complex realm of the international business arena. Utilizing examples, including graphs and timelines, Mr. Glory provided a comprehensive overview to help attendees gain a clearer perspective and envision their future professional trajectories. This sharing of experiences undoubtedly proved to be a fruitful and enriching experience for the students, offering them valuable insights into the practical aspects of the business world.


About Mr. Glory Tay

Mr. Glory Tay has over 17 years of working experiences, he has held several roles in international business environment with local companies and MNCs. His present role as the Business Development Functional Rollout Manager APAC & AMER for Norma Group. He has successfully launched group expected application process and migrated from legacy system to D365FO for respective countries entity. Involving in process optimisation and ensuring compliances in place for the company robust and sounds commercial activities. More than 15 years of his career experiences, he led and orchestrated his teams in lighting and automotive industry to achieve numerous commercial aims and business development criteria within APAC and South East Asia region. Armed with an MBA specialism with Strategy from Heriot-Watt University and Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from University of Hertfordshire, Glory continue exploring and bringing both academic rigor and practical insights to discussion.
