The New Energy Science & Engineering Student Association (NESA) organized an industrial visit to Kibing (M) Sdn Bhd, a leading glass manufacturer, on 7 November 2025 at the company’s plant in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.

The half-day visit was hosted by Kibing’s plant representatives and allowed students to observe real-world industrial operations. A total of 18 students from the New Energy Science and Engineering Programme participated in the visit, led by Dr. Ng Boon Junn and Ms. Crystal Lee Ka Yin from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering (SECE).

During the visit, students learned about the complete workflow of float glass production, including stages such as raw material feeding, furnace operation, float bath processing, and cutting. Each stage was explained by the respective department leaders to ensure the information provided was accurate and comprehensive.
Students also observed the differences in production between ordinary clear glass and colored glass, gaining insights into how additives affect material properties, energy usage, and product performance.
