On 25 September 2025, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) hosted a delegation from Mercedes-Benz Tech Malaysia (MBTMY) for a meeting focused on potential collaboration in research and development, particularly in digital solutions and innovation for the automotive industry.

The meeting began with introductions from both XMUM and Mercedes-Benz Tech Malaysia, followed by presentations from the School of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (SAIR) and the School of Computing and Data Science (SCDS). The two schools shared their research expertise and outlined possible areas for partnership. A Q&A and networking session allowed participants to exchange ideas and explore future opportunities for industry–academia cooperation.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the XMUM Data Center, where the Mercedes-Benz delegation learned about the university’s digital infrastructure supporting research and innovation.

The Mercedes-Benz Tech Malaysia delegation was led by Mr. Ken Gan, Head of Department, accompanied by senior managers and technical principals from software development (car stream), software development (cross-tech), HR, and PMO teams. Representing XMUM were Prof. Dr. Wang Hui Qiong, Assistant President, along with representatives from the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre, SCDS, and SAIR.
