On 26 August 2025, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) welcomed a delegation of eight academic staff from the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), for a benchmarking visit.
The visit programme included an introduction to XMUM and its Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) programme, a corporate video screening, and briefings by academic coordinators and laboratory directors. The UKM delegates also toured XMUM's Electrical and Electronics Engineering Laboratories, New Energy Science and Engineering Laboratories, smart classrooms, and computer labs.
These sessions and tours provided opportunities for both institutions to exchange insights on curriculum design, teaching methods, laboratory management, and the role of hands-on learning in engineering education.
The visit concluded with discussions on potential areas for collaboration, including joint research projects, academic networking, and sharing of best practices.
