During 26–27 May 2025, a delegation from the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (STCM) at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM), led by Dean Prof. Chen Shaodong, visited Nature Concept TCM Healthcare in Johor Bahru and Sunway TCM Centre in Kuala Lumpur, in order to strengthen collaboration in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) education and industry engagement.
The delegation comprised Asst. Prof. Dr. Chep Lee Lu Siang, Head of the Undergraduate Programme; Mr. Vincent Soh Chee Hong, Deputy Director of Student Affairs; and Ms. Kho Jia Jia, STCM Administrative Executive. Upon arrival at Nature Concept TCM in Johor Bahru, the team was warmly received by Dr. Wu Ying Li, Chief of the Product Development Department, who led a tour of the medical consultation rooms and the herbal preparation and decoction areas. The visit offered valuable insights into the integration of traditional TCM practices with modern clinical environments, highlighting the institution’s dedication to preserving traditional methods while embracing advancements in healthcare.
On 27 May, the delegation continued their visit to Sunway TCM Centre in Kuala Lumpur, where they were hosted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lim Ren Jye, Medical Director and Integrative Medicine Consultant. Dr. Lim shared the history and vision of Sunway TCM and guided the delegation through the centre's facilities. This visit further deepened mutual understanding and explored potential avenues for collaboration, particularly in TCM education and clinical practice development.
The visits reflect XMUM's continued efforts to enhance collaboration in Traditional Chinese Medicine through academic engagement and industry partnerships. Both institutions showed keen interest in exploring future cooperation in research, clinical training, and TCM education.
