School of Economics and Management Partners with Xiamen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association for Talent Development

Recently, School of Economics and Management, Xiamen University Malaysia has established a talent development base with Xiamen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association. This partnership aims to deepen the industry-academia collaboration and leverage complementary resources for talent development.

The agreement include several initiatives, including the establishment of student practice bases (both online and offline), talent training and placement, research projects, innovation and entrepreneurship funds, and training exchanges. The collaboration will also promote connections between Xiamen, China, and Malaysia, fostering industry-academia-research cooperation across borders.

Under the agreement, XMUM will create a talent development base, while XMCEA will set up a practical teaching base.

In May 2024, President Chen Zhitie with several business representatives from XMCEA visited XMUM to discuss potential collaborations with Prof. Wang Huiqiong, Assistant President of XMUM, and representatives of SEM.

This collaboration is expected to offer students several key benefits:

1. **Increased Practical Opportunities**: Students will gain internships and hands-on experiences through the online and offline practice bases established by the partnership, enhancing their practical skills and professional abilities.

2. **Optimized Talent Development Pathways**: The collaborative projects will offer students systematic training and development programs, better preparing them for the job market.
