The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre congratulates Guo Yubei and Ye Hanzhi, and their supervisor, Assistant Professor Dr. Lai Sin Yuan, from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering for being awarded the gold and silver awards in the International Virtual Competition of Creative and Innovative Idea (IVCCII) 2024.
Aiming to celebrate and nurture creativity and innovation, this event provides a platform for students to showcase their ideas and engage in creative problem-solving to a global audience. More than 10 universities participated in the competition, including Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi MARA Sarawak, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, Brawijaya University, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, etc.
Guo Yubei, a second-year undergraduate from Chemical Engineering Programme, won the Gold Award with her project “LushLips Multi-Balm”. Formulated with bio-based, vegan-friendly ingredients that offer versatility in color and function, the product aims to nourish, protect, and enhance the natural shine of our lips. Additionally, it acts as an emotion modulator with customizable features. This makes it suitable for a diverse range of users, including vegetarians and those with allergies.
Ye Hanzhi from New Energy Science and Engineering Programme won the Silver Award with her project titled “Design of Remote Medical VR Helmet and Glasses Products”. The product aims to overcome traditional limitations in medical diagnosis caused by geographical distance and patient mobility. By combining virtual reality technology with autonomous drone technology, it provides doctors with real-time and comprehensive patient information.

ChM. Dr. Lai Sin Yuan is an Assistant Professor at the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, at Xiamen University Malaysia. Her research interests are in green chemistry, materials science, catalysis, photocatalysis, and nanomaterials for energy and environmental sustainability. |
