The Research and Postgraduate Centre congratulates Team CMEACES, comprising a group of chemical engineering undergraduate students - Said Ismail Amer Aref Yaser, Yeow Teck Ann and Wong Man Kei - for achieving resounding victory in the Southeast Asia Global Innovative Challenge (SEA-GIC) 2023.
Hosted by the American Chemical Society (ACS), the SEA-GIC 2023 is an international-level pitching competition with the theme “Fueling the future, give the earth reason to smile”.
During the competition, the participants were asked to prepare a pitching presentation and to provide a solution of renewable fuel technologies. In addition to that, the participants should provide the technology innovation and advantages, market opportunity, discussion on chemistry, future requirements, and recommendations for stakeholders and decision-makers.
Competing on an international scale, team CMEACES advised by Dr. Noraini Binti Mohd emerged as the Winner of the pitching competition and was awarded with a prize of USD 500 and a certificate.
The team would also like to acknowledge the contribution from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ong Wee Jun, the Director of the Center of Excellence for NaNo Energy & Catalysis Technology (CONNECT), to bring this competition to fruition and success.
