Good health and well-being is a priority for all students at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM). This is demonstrated among the postgraduate students recently at their Badminton Friendly Match organised by the Postgraduate Student Council (PGSC) on the evenings of 2 – 3 and 9 - 10 December 2023 at the badminton courts of B1 student activity building. This activity was organised to ensure healthy rapport building during social events and to foster stronger ties among the postgraduate students on campus. The badminton match attracted postgraduate participants across different academic programmes.
The winners are given prizes according to the following categories:
Singles category:
1. Champion: Kui Wei Kai (Master of Arts in Chinese Studies)
2. First runner-up: Adrian Chan Wen-Jie (Master of Science in Marine Biotechnology)
3. Second runner-up: Ee Zhi Yin (Master in New Energy Science and Engineering)
Doubles category:
1. Champion: Grayson Ling Zhi Sheng (Master in New Energy Science and Engineering), Tan Yee Wayne (Master of Business Administration)
2. First runner-up: Adrian Chan Wen-Jie, Han Ming Han (Master of Science in Marine Biotechnology)
Second runner-up: Chong Mun Choon, Kui Wei Kai (Master of Arts in Chinese Studies)
The prize-giving ceremony was held on 10 December 2023 to mark a successful end of the friendly match. Aside from having fun, the winners were rewarded with healthy food hampers for their sportsmanship throughout the match. The event was supported by the Research and Postgraduate Centre (RPC), XMUM and organised by the team of outgoing council members from the PGSC. Well done to all participants!
