Welcome Orientation to Navigate Postgraduate Students’ New Journey at XMUM

Postgraduate Student Council (PGSC) organised the Postgraduate Orientation Day on 16 September 2023 at A5#G04. The event aims to welcome the newly enrolled XMUM postgraduate students. The existing postgraduate students across different schools/departments are also invited to engage with the new postgraduate students.

Dr. Mariam-Aisha Fatima (Research and Postgraduate Centre) officiated the orientation with a warm welcoming speech. The orientation proceeded with a briefing session by Dr. Angela Paul a/p Peter (Research and Postgraduate Centre) to introduce the postgraduate students to the supporting resources at the university.

Led by Chin Min Yee, the President of PGSC, the committees explain the efforts of PGSC in facilitating postgraduate students’ experiences from the academic, career development, and welfare aspects. PGSC introduces the senior buddy system to the new students for a quicker adaptation to the postgraduate ambience at XMUM. Ice-breaking activities and bonding games were conducted after the briefing sessions. The orientation ended with a campus visit tour to familiarise the newcomers with the university’s academic and leisure facilities.
